Kearneysville, WV (Must reside within a daily commutable distance to the corporate office) Our Client, a well-established underground utilities construction company, is seeking an experience Construction Estimator who has understanding of project management, working long hours, managing daily challenges, and being part of a successful team.
The Construction Estimator position will be office based and requires a high level of computer software / technological skills; Company is currently uses HeavyBid construction estimating software Ability to visit customers and project sites on an as needed basis.
Salary will be based on experience level and 401K profit sharing bonus are based on individual success! The qualified candidate will be equipped to endure challenges and empowered to shape their career by servicing those who they manage and work with daily as a team.
Essential Functions:
Prepares and estimates budget costs for underground utilities construction projects Evaluates offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting info Writes up and presents budgets, reports, and project plans Collaborate with engineers, customers, subcontractors etc.
to determine the specifications of the project Follow client policies, procedures, and project control requirements to plan, organize, monitor, control and report project status and ensure financial/operating costs are within budget Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment & materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations Evaluate progress, prepare detailed Project Status Reports, and provide regular updates to the team and clients Effectively manage projects' operations and schedules.
Ensuring all projects on time and within budget while meeting the high-quality standards required by our company and our clients Review drawings and specifications for completeness and general compliance with commonly accepted engineering/ construction best practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in engineering or construction management, or a 2-year degree in engineering technology and 5
years of related job experience, or 10
years of related Construction Estimating / Construction Project Management experience is preferred Civil / Site / Utilities Construction Project estimating, scheduling and change order experience is required Experience with Heavy Bid and / or Heavy Job estimating software or similar construction estimating software Experience with Oracle Primavera or similar construction / engineering project management software required Ability to read and understand construction / engineering plans and specifications Benefits and Schedule Overview:
